Are these sinks any good? Im looking for a $40 or under solution with shipping (an air heatsink) and there is one somewhere i can get for 35 like this but its socket A. Are they good? Reason i want one being i have one in this sytem and CPU temps usually run around mid to upper 40's and i dont like that. Should stock HSF be this hot? should i just try Arctic Silver first?
try AS first and then follow their instructions on their site. Tell us your temps then with screen shots. have a look at some thermalright Heatsinks.
Stock? Not that bad really. A reapply might take you a bit under, but I doubt that much. FYI, those sinks are the ****. They rock.
Shadowed: Should I get this one i can for 35 as i imagine it can be found easily for that price as its socket a.....Will it bring my temps down significantly? Also Thanks, looks like AS will be ordered shortly anyways
I would suggest a Thermaltake Big Typhoon, but it is a little above your price range, but it is the best air cooling around
No socket a suppoert in big typhoon i dont believe, but if someone tells me differently that i trust ill buy one I found 3 and want approval if the big typhoon doesnt support socket a #1 #2 #3 If/ since these are all the same model should i just get the cheapest one? Are they good also?
there are a few different swiftech models MC462 - the original, smooth pins with copper base MCX462 - copper base with ridged pins MCX462+ - thicker copper base with a few more ridged pins MCX462V - The one 462 version of the pic in yout first post each one is a bit better than the one before #1 looks like a MCX462 and the latter two MCX462+
So which one in post 6 should i get? What would price diff be if i got the new one with the tilted pins (like in first post) Would the one in first post give me A LOT better cooling than the ones in post 6? If so id consider it. Id like nembers here (degrees C)
