Is it worthwhile cooling the processing chip on a SB Audigy?

If so, would a thermaltake crystal orb do the trick?

how easy would it be to fit? and would i need anything else to keep it on there?

    Thanx (look at the side - i'm a n00b)

why would you want to cool your sound card. its not like you are going to overclock it.

yeh, but when ur doing any demanding stuff with the sound, it runs very hot, and then performance degrades.

you are talking a minute performance decrease and a minute temperature decrease....unless of cours this has somethin to do with the firewire which i dont know about...

but seriously...what do you use to hear that difference in performance decrease??

If cooling it is your thing then fine, but dont use any Orb or anything with a fan. The noise of the fan will be far more noticeable than the slight change (as in pretty much unnoticeable)in sound quality as the card heats up.......

IMHO a heatsink alone would do the trick fine! :)

i don't think that haveing the card running cooler would give you a better quality of sound.
