Hello! Im searching cooler for AMD Turion which is preferably >400g. Since it dosen't have HS how fragile is the core? (is there any shimm for Turion?) Thermalright XP-120 looks nice and has a lot cooling power. Id also need some good mainboard for it mATX or ATX.. any suggestions? MSI K8MM seems decent mATX board which has integrated VGA/audio and supports E-Stepping (but it isin't in the Thermalright compatiblity list?)
the DFI boards are really nice. as for heatsinks, the XP-120 is great, or the Zalman 7700, but i don't know how well you'll make contact w/ the core. the core shouldn't be VERY fragile, you'd be surprised as to how much pressure they can take. if you're looking to overclock, you can't beat those 2 heatsinks or liquid cooling.
Well attleast I know that zalman 7000-series will make the contact just great as said in this review on page 3 http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_content.asp?id=turion64&page=3 and 7700 even the alcu is 600g and the cu is over 900g.. Im looking bit lighter since im going to move it around.. XP-120 is "only" 370g. But only DFI boards which are tested are either NF4 or NF3 based and don't have integrated VGA. For start im going to go whitout 3d card (money/space issue). Don't worry it won't be the gaming comp attleast not yet
Hmm.. you know how long will it take for those boards to be in the market? Im in a kind of hurry whit this one..
