A law enforcement officer went to a Dunkin' Donuts on Boston's South Shore and left his gun behind. The 61-year-old Plymouth County sheriff's deputy entered the doughnut shop in Pembroke last week to use the bathroom. He took off his gun and left without it. He realized his mistake, but when he returned to the shop about 45 minutes later, the gun was gone. "They asked me if somebody had turned anything in. And I had no idea what they were talking about. They called me back later and, they're like, it was actually a gun," said Natalie Onges, a doughnut shop worker. It turns out a customer took the weapon and dropped it in a Weymouth mailbox. He called police and directed them to it. Police said the man was afraid a child would find the gun, so he opted to take it with him instead of leaving it for someone else to find. The Patriot Ledger reported that the deputy, whose name has not been released, was placed on suspension and may face disciplinary action. I can't help but smile at that Thats all of it, but here's a link anyway.
Well, obviously the American police will forget their gun if they're forever drooling over donuts! Funny, but dangerous, luckily British Police don't carry handguns! (Do the police in London carry them now, or is that only the big automatic ones?)
actually an army officer left her pistol in a sainsbury toilet last week. so it does happen in the uk too Click here for the mirrors take on this
There was a cop demonstrating at a school and shot himself. Yep...they are much more qualified than a 'civilian' gun owner like myself.
Here in El Paso, Texas, there was a cop a few months ago who dropped her gun out of her patrol car window in the middle of a residential neighborhood, never to be found.
bahaha that vid was ****ing gold "i am the only one in this room qualified to handle this weapon safely" *holsters gun* *shoots self in leg*
It was most likely a Smith and Wesson that we in here in good ole springfield, ma produce for the fine men in blue... It's funny that it was a cop in boston... You would think there'd be more of it though!
sold my browning .40cal high power a couple of years ago... I miss it. It was a nice pistol. I've found a 9mm high power for sale, but 9mm is just a tiny bit too small for me. I've been thinking about a baretta .40 or .45 - Wait - I've dragged this way off topic, haven't I?...... Sorry - too much redbull......
I went on a shooting range on an air base in england, and they go mental if you do ANYTHING that they dont tell you to do. 1 - get down, test and adjust your position 2 - take control of the weapon 3 - with a magazine containing (x) rounds, load. 4 - When you are ready, go on. 5 - has anyone not finished? 6 - unload 7 - ready for inspection port arms It surprises me that an officer is allowed to carry a loaded pistrol with the safety off in a holster. Thats just dangerous. No wonder he shot himself in the friggin leg. There was another incident when a cop was demonstrating how the holster prevented anyone from grabbing the gun off him, he let a kid try it out, and the kids little fingers managed to pull the trigger on the gun while it was holstered, it blew a hole in the floor.
Why don't they just put up a 2000$ reward for the gun.., I'd return it instantly! Still funny though I can't understand how you can FORGET your GUN! Whats next, army 'lost' a few tanks? L
