Thats the desk I built many years ago. I think it features in all of my worklogs. Thanks. Thanks Nexxo, They do have 12mm tube, but it's coiled. I need drawn tube. I'm following up a lead provided by forum member Alain though. I hope this gets me what I need.
Read with Russian accent: I see you avalible for sale, yes? I buy the both. Sell for very good money on http://buycheapoeple.com/very-cheap/real-russian/you-pay-shipping.aspx @Attila: Very very nice build. I really cant wait to get started on my next project with this build as inspiration.
Nice work mate Alain pointed you in my direction, have gone through exactly the same issues locating the 12mm OD copper pipe in Australia throughout the course of my Massively build (worklog link) this year. Finding the copper pipe was such an epic saga, there's lots of info on the search in the worklog and I did a big writeup on it after finally sourcing it - ("The great copper pipe fiasco"). Apart from the stuff I had manufactured for me locally I also imported some from the UK just so I wouldn't be short. TLDR - I'm in Canberra, I have about 10m of 12.0mm OD copper pipe and won't need it all for my current build. Lets talk
I don't suppose you made a log for that did you? quite fancy reading a nice furniture build log this evening
Thank you. Thanks again Nexxo. Thanks Saate. Email on the way. No, this was made before I new what a work log was. Thank you Yemerich. I've been pretty busy trying to find the right OD copper tube but I did get a little work done. To mount the drives I decided to do some recycling. The mounting brackets from an old PCIex drive mount were removed and are redeployed for this build. A new mounting plate is cut from some 6mm plate (left over from Na'ir. That tape has been on for three years). Filed and drilled. And polished. While I was at it, the CPU block retention bracket was polished as well. And these parts in place. To prevent scratching, the drive plate is mounted with nylon washers. I'll try to find some black ones.
That is one of the nicest back-plates I have seen. The drive holder would look better centred, imo, and black fibre washers, maybe. Very nice work done, again.
Thanks p0Pe, Dk_vr, Jason and Craig. @Craig, yep, black washers are the go. There is a 'landing' behind the drives to support the connectors. You'll see what I mean later.
Love watching your creativity and skill manifest itself. This build is every bit as good as your last. Can't wait for the next post.
