That's some amazing metal work. I've seen (and done) a lot, but it's some of the cleanest work I've ever seen. Still plenty to be said about handcrafting.

Just came back after a few months break for health issues. And what a thing to come back to! This is absolutely spectacular! Any chance you'd tell us what you're planning for paint?

    Thanks Kayin. :thumb:

Thanks. :) Yeah, it's always a good idea to take your time. No-one said it's a race, as long as you finish before you kick the bucket all will be well. :hehe:

Thank you. :) And sorry to hear you have health problems. I went through a patch of those as well but I'm better now and I hope you are too. I have some gunmetal metallic here but I need to see if it works as I will be painting each panel separately, and I'm not sure they will match up.

    Thanks Dagored. :)

    Thanks jay. :)

After trying for what seems like forever to secure some 12mm copper pipe (there just isn't any in the whole country. :eeek:), forum member Alain came to the rescue and got me in touch with a modder from Canberra. Matt is building his own water cooled mod with hard piping over at OCAU. Check it out, he's been having a fun time getting this stuff as well. He even managed to convince a local manufacturer to make him a custom batch.
Anyway, Matt was kind enough to send me a couple of pieces and they arrived yesterday.

I had a good chuckle when I saw the address label. :hehe: Thanks a lot Matt and Alain.

You can see by the calipers in the above photo that I wasted only about a nanosecond before I measured the diameter and also for roundness. :hehe: They are good. :thumb:

While I was waiting for the pipes, I spent my time (a lot of time) polishing all the parts that make up the front intakes.

The first thing was to disassemble and sand everything down.

For these small parts, some long M3 screws provided a handy grip. This helped to make sure there were no accidents.

Re-assembling after polishing was extremely nerve racking. But the task was accomplished with no extra scratches. A few photos here because they almost look like different parts now that they are finished.

I've decided to try and use one pipe, with bends, to take the lines behind the motherboard. So tomorrow I start bending. :D

I'm visualising beautiful polished aluminium that is hiding even more beautiful polished copper pipes of perfect length and diameter and it's totally gorgeous what I see in my minds eye but I know when you reveal the finished project it will exceed that which I see.

Cygnus X-1 is my favourite but I think this might usurp it :thumb:
