    Hi all,

my first post here and i'm after a little build advice.

I'm upgrading my current PC spec's
    P5E3 premium wifi
    Gskill 1600 4gig
    Q9650 Fuzion WB
    PA 120.3 Rad
    2 x HD4870 crossfire
    x-fi
    Enermax Galaxy 1000w
    Lian Li G70 EP-UK

I'm thinking of upgrading to a Corei7 and have decided on 920 d0 cpu but a torn between two mobos the EVGA x58 or the dfi ut x58-t3eh8. But i still haven't decided on the ram yet.

    Thanks

There will not be much difference between a 920 and your current Q9650. At least not enough to justify the price.

Unless the OP is doing alot of multimedia work, programs that can take advantage of the I7's hyper-threading.

performance increase no where near worth the cost of the upgrade. having said that, dfi if you like to oc and meddle, gigabyte or asus if you don't.

Hey and thanks for the advice, dam i though i would of seen a bit boost going to a core i7.

I'm not currently overclocking the q9650 its not a great vid (1.300) and ive been having some funny but easily fixed issues with it (C1E and speed step ramdom throttling under load when not overclocked) but i know ill get 3.6 if not 3.8 out of it (cooling with a fuzion and PA 120.3).
