did you have both hardrives connected at the same time this happended to me two i had a 2 hardrives connected and when i went told it to format one of them suprisingly it fully formatted one of the drives but also partially formated the other drive ! so if you did and your rars were big files i think some if the data in the rars got formatted too which is why its showing corrupt. Please correct me if im wrong because im not 100% sure

nope, during the format I had the drive hooked up to my old folding@home pc, since vista was being a pain in the butt.... I didnt hook up the second drive until after vista was reinstalled

not to mention vista seems awfully slow about everything now for some reason...... bah humbug, i freaking hate vista

    Your name suits you. ;)

Are the rar's opeing in winrar or the built in zip of vista? If so be sure to use winrar.

    :)

Do you have a motherboard with an Nvidia chipset?

I had the same issue which was related to crap Nvidia drivers for the integrated network adapter. Uninstalled the Nvidia drivers and stuck to the Vista ones and it worked great.

    It's a very common problem

    :D

Edit: Just checked your signature (Striker) so yes, try uninstalling the Nvidia network drivers.

Your want to make sure you at least have the nvidia chipset drivers installed, just not the nvidia LAN ones.
