Something needed doing to that but the rest of the case looks superb, you do a very good job indeed.

Nice one Bill. I'm really starting to like this style of battered looking case mod.

I'm just going to take the mobo tray out of my stacker drag the case down the road behind the car and then put the tray back in...job done.... I may even try rolling it down a metal fire escape for added effect.:dremel:

Edit: I've actually got a genuine grenade case laying about, made of solid steel..well I suppose it would need to be if it's full of live grenades...lol

    Yay! Dinosaurs!
I should do one of these some day. I keep recycling cases instead of keeping one for mangling.:duh:

Bill, I just had a thought about the fans....... what if you were to spray on some 3M spray adhesive with the fan running, and then sprinkle in some 'dust' and follow it with a clear coat. Ive worked in more than one industrial setting, including aboard navy ships, and the fans tend to collect a sticky kind of dust, they never stay shiny long.

    Just a thought

@jeff, Anyone can do what you're suggesting. The real fun and learning experience comes from recreating the destruction without destroying it. I've learned more skills with projects that involved distressing or weathering something as a special effect, over constructing something new.

@Cheapskate, I would love to watch that. You've got more ideas for making and manipulating stuff than anyone else I know.

@Nano, I airbrushed the blades Thurs, so they look dusty. Making note to post pic :hip:

In the firefly verse, "Shiny" is slang for "cool" "great", "neat", "wonderful", etc.

I had never heard of the SERENITY Firefly series before I saw this mod!

I still have no idea what it is, but who cares? This is amazing!

@Ian, Thanks man! I haven;t heard from you in awhile, hope all is well.

@Angel, I had no idea either, until a friend borrowed me the "SERENITY" movie. You'll be asking yourself "Why didn't I ever hear of this?" That is why it has gained such a huge cult following. You have to see the movie, before watching the series.

Going over areas of the right side panel with airbrush, using Flat Black, over saturated with Thinner.. to weather or "mute" some of coloring in the decals, wiring, and smaller copper tubing

Thanks for the post Mads! :D I should have the top grill finished tonight. I will try experimenting with heating copper for different surface effects too.

Hm, copper turns green over time due to oxidation, so maybe you could hurry up that aging process somehow?

I like the Flaming effect on Copper, and photos of that to follow!

You need to Netflix/Amazon/PirateBay/Rob/Steal/Do whatever to get the series and watch it! It really is that good.:naughty::clap::rock:

Firefly & its movie Serenity are basically a Sci-Fi Western made by Joss Whedon after the end/cancellation of Buffy & Angel.:thumb:
