Well after I tested my rig, moved it to my case and experiencing my new machine for one whole day, my Corsair 750TX started cracking (electric cracks) and next minute smoke started to come out the machine. Turned it all off but absolutly gutted as spent ages tying the cables tidy and now I have got to remove them all.... I got it from Aria about two weeks ago. Should I sent it back to them or directly to Corsair in the Netherlands? I noticed a post re: a corsair 850 giving up after 7 months also. These Corsair PSU's are not exactly reliable are they...
Back to aria buddy (good look with that !). And why didnt you buy from play.com considering you live in jersey ?
Is it possible that other parts of my machine may be damaged now? Is it worth trying again or take it apart? I heard its possible its just a bug has got inside it and that leave it a while and it will be ok but dont want to risk blowing everything else...
It is possible that it has taken all of your kit out but the only way to tell is to try an alternative PSU. Do not plug the old one back in!
RMA the PSU to ARIA - I've had an experience where they said send it to the manufacturer, which is incorrect. Test out another PSU with the kit to see that its not completely borked, and pray for the best.
That was me! Also Corsair are popular so the frequency of posted faults is likely higher, it doesn't make them any less reliable in the grand scheme of things. Anyway, raise an RMA with ARIA and get it replaced. If it's faulty then you are entitled to this.
RMA raised and going to take it out the machine tomorrow. I'm not going to try it again and will check the motherboard for any damage. Will my PSU from my old Dell work? Its 4 and a half years old from an XPS 710. May give that a go...
