    Hi all

    Who has a Corsair AX850 PSU? Does anyone of you know what connector is which? what each socket connects to?

    18pin+10pin = 24pin
    6pin=SATA/Molex
    12pin= PCI-E
    8pin=8pin EPS12V

    Also worth pointing out that it's impossible to plug them in wrong :)

    As far as I know, nowhere in the manual does it say which plugs are for which connectors lol

    It doesn't just states what to do without pictures.

    What is the 8pin=8pin EPS12V socket for?

    Oh, it's for the motherboard sorry. It can split into two 4s if needed.

    Here's a pic to explain further :)

    Green=PCI-E/8pin motherboard connector
    Yellow=24 pin motherboard connector

    I must say that's a substantial oversight on Corsair's part. To experienced system builders PSUs might be much of a muchness but even I'd be a bit peeved that the connectors are unlabelled anywhere on the PSU or in the manual :miffed:

    I know this sounds like a noob question, but the two connectors in green which are stated as 8pin have 12pins in the socket, I assume when connecting cables to that socket it will not use all those pins?

    This is what you need to plug into your GPU:

    Then the other end goes into the relevant green outlined slot in Noiz's image above.

    If it fits, it works. Like your motherboard and everything else related to the computer.

    The two 12 pins split into 4 6 pins. The 8 pin goes to the 8 pin for your board :)

    Apart from IDE and floppy drive ribbon cables, which you can plug in the wrong way round. With luck though none of us will have to deal with too many of these again.

    What GoodBytes said. There is no labeling needed, because you simply can't plug them in wrong way without excessive force. Note how some pins have square holes, while others have two square corners filled. Combinations of these makes the connectors impossible to mix up (good luck mixing up the 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16 pin connectors).
