    Hi all,

I have a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Mobo and got the Dominator 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 Memory (TR3X6G1600C8D). My motherboard has 4 slots and I would like to fill the last one really, but I don't seem to be able to find anywhere that will sell this memory card on its own.

Does anyone know where I can get one, if it is even possible, or have any other ideas as to be able to use the last memory slot please?

    Thanks

wtf, I thought all X58 used triple slot ram.

Hm, tried ebay and things like amazon, nothing really there. So it's either:

    A) Leave it at 3 sticks 6gb

    B) Get someone in the same situation and go halfs on a 4gb dominator set

    C) Buy a 4gb set and put the 2gb stick on ebay.

I think it's personally going to be A though.

    Sorry,

    Thanks for the reply,

not the most hopeful of answers, but an honest one. Yep, A will have to be the way I go at the moment, frustrating. Running ESXi4.0 and could do with just about 1GB extra in RAM for the last OS..

    NM.

Thank you for your advice and help.

Just leave it as 6gb mate, if you stick to just using the white slots it will all run in tri channel, I dont know why they added the 4th slot but I dot think you would get that much of a boost filling it.

    Hi,

Thanks, yep they are in the white slots.

Thanks for all the feedback. Will run with 6GB and see how I go, may have to redesign some bits, but that would be down the line anyway.

    Cheers
