Hi all Just a quick one really - I don't have 6Gb/s SATA on my motherboard and want a SSD primarily as a boot drive & for as many games as will fit on it. On scan the two SSDs mentioned above are practically the same price and my question is which should I go for? The corsair has much higher write speeds but sacrifices some read speed (the crucial's read speed is 355MB/s but as I understand it on SATA II you'll only get about 300MB/s) However, in this review clicky the C300 seems to beat the F series in almost all tests (other than write speed obviously) with the latencies in the random tests being significantly lower... Any suggestions? Many thanks GK
Niether c400 is a few weeks away wait and you will likely get double the storage for same cost Prices I've seen quoted around 64gb $100 128gb $220 256gb $450 We won't get direct conversion but even so it's not far away
Actually after a bit of research I've now added the 60GB OCZ Vertex 2E to my list as well.... Although as far as I can see it is practically identical to the F60... Anyone with any suggestions?
Best bet is to hold off, I'm looking at picking up the F90 or 64 gb c300 but It'd be a waste of money to buy a C300 right now with the c400 just around the corner. Even if the prices are too high the higher capcity c300 are likely to drop in price
