    Hi all,

Anyone have any experience views on which is better for a new pc build, mainly going to be used for vmware. if that matters.. so should be using my cpu a fair bit

The case im going with is the Fractal Design r3. So i think it can fit the h100 but im not sure how worth it is to spend another £50 for cpu cooling.

    Thanks

What chip is it? If it's sandybridge I wouldn't bother with the H60. They run very cool anyways.

    hi!

It will be either a i7 2600k or the new 3930K (Not sure if thats still a sandy)

The 3930k 2011 socket isnt listed on the corsair but 1155 is (i think the 2011 is just an upgraded but same size?)

guessing i should be good with the be quiet though :)

    Thanks

The 3930 runs quite a bit hotter. The Be quite HSF will be quiter. Id say go for the Be quite + the 2600K

im looking more and more at the 3930k as its going to be a vm so the extra cores would be good and from tests i saw if you use applications that can use all the cores 3930k goes quite a way ahead. that coupled with the added 16gb of ram i can have with make it!

    So to update.

What does anyone suggest for the 3930k if its a noisey beast should i look at the hydo stuff?

    Thanks

Id say go for the Be Quite if you don't want huge clocks.

Also depends if you want a huge lump of metal in your case with two fans either side of it, i went for the h60 or equivalent of for a few reasons, they offer just as good cooling as most of the air coolers out there, they look better and do not make your case look congested.
