So I have a an Asus M4A785TD-M EVO that supports DDR3. I wanted to upgrade the RAM from 2Gb and add an extra 4Gb.

So I bought 2x 2Gb Corsair Value Select from Scan.

I already had 2x1Gb OCZ in the system. I installed the new RAM and the PC wouldnt boot up, no screen displayed with the new RAM installed, I tried it in every position and also by themselves in every position. As soon as I took them out the PC started up with the old sticks still in.

Do you think the sticks are DOA?

Just to confirm: You tried the Corsair memory ONLY? Just the 2x2GB of Corsair in the board?

    That is correct.

    EDIT:
I've figured it out. I checked the BIOS version and found out it was rather old and updated it to the current one and it has sorted the problem, the PC now sees the new memory modules.
