Has anyone seen THIS ram in black? I already have 8gb of corsair Vengeance 1866 ddr3 in black but they have the rather large finned heatsink and I want to add another 8gb but it has to be low profile due to the heatsink fan. You can buy it in blue and red but strangely not in black. Maybe it was discontinued so I may be interested in 2nd stuff.
Found a 16Gb kit made up of 4x4Gb sticks http://www.dabs.com/products/corsai...ance-lp-1866mhz-ddr3-dimm-cl9-black-86RF.html That is the only place I have found it though. Maybe you could sell the ram you have already to make up some of the money towards buying the 16Gb kit.
I've got that kit in my rig right now. I've got the 16Gb kit in Black. Got it off Scan about 2 months ago.
Ouch a little more than I was hoping to spend. I was hoping to get a 2nd hand black set for around £25 seeing as 8gb new in red is £40, going by those prices I would get £25 for mine thus costing me around £65. Why is 16gb £91 when two sets of 8gb in red would be £80. Think I might have to rethink this or go for some red stuff which is not what I want really. Wonder why they don't do 8gb kits in LP black of this ram.
I think to be honest the price is down to the speed, and also it's probably aimed at Sandy Bridge E systems. Not sure what your running but would the Blue or Red not match abit with your motherboard?
