I shoulda left it at 'simple' - the 24/7 mentalists stop it being easy - but as long as you're not playing with German or French players (too good and too rude respectively) you should be fine. After all, it's just kill or be killed and unless you're playing a hostage match the gameplay is pretty simple. You should give it another go, if you have lots and lots of spare time and a very long temper...
lol I haven't played it yet, but I've heard very mixed reviews of it being fantastically good or annoyingly bad ...
The Scandinavians (Nordic Region in fact) are the best players of the lot to be honest. Sweden leading the pack and Finland and Denmark close after. English teams have never matched them it's a shame to say.
Counter strike 2 would be interesting but how will how up to the modern warfare games. Counter strike appeals to older gamers and Modern warfare appeals to anyone.
Counter strike source and cs 1.6 together have the largest player base of any FPS, counter strike doesnt need to live up to modern warfare because it isnt a competitor to it - CS is a very specialized game that works on a set rule of features and gameplay style.
CS 1.6 is still better the CS:S so a doubt CS2 would be worth while. In fairness 7.1 was the peak, it went downhill when the game hit retail.
Start with a few Gungame matches, fun way to deathmatch and it gets you used to all the guns nice and quick
3.5 was more fun though, closer to Quake and guns didn't disappear at the end of the round. Fun times back then.
Big CS:S player here... I still love playing it, but think it could use an injection of new ideas. I agree, vehicles would be a bad idea. A few ideas: Improve jumping (no bunny hopping) Leaning Prone position Bring back the riot shield Grenades that can kill in one hit Mines Persistant stats per character - not as complex as perk system for COD4/5/MW2 More weapons overall, mod-able Yeah, so I guess I want a multiplayer MW2 for PC that works. And I think CS is the right platform for it and this is the right time for it.
One thing i noticed about the CS1.6 or Condition Zero compared to Source is that the amount of cheaters you get. With Zero (playing my friends lappy) i was being shot from crazy angles and so he turned on the cheats that he's been running for over a year and i must say it was kinda fun to know where everyone was but his Source account got banned straight away when he turned it on (serves him right). I doubt we'll ever see a CS2 in donkeys because of the popularity with the current ones.
It was whenever they first introduced the P90 that was great fun! it was basically a rail gun....hold trigger and run...everybody got cut to ribbons... Also in beta 2 or so there was no penalty for TK...so if you bought a good gun then most of ur team would try and kill u at spawn to get it

To me this relates to 1: Fix the faulty netcode in a patch, or complete rewrite. 4) do you want a texture update? Not necessary. Keep the game accessible to the widest variety of computers. It doesn't have to be MW2 quality. 5) do you want the hitboxes to match the models? DEFINITELY. In the same vain, blood (see what I did there?) and hit effects should reflect actual hits. A damage system that reflected damage to extremities would also be great IMHO. 6) do you want them to add extra modes of play? DEFINITELY, the more the better. I have to say though that the mod community has taken care of that in a big way in the past (Zombie mods, gungames, deathmatchs, etc.) 7) do you want them to make VIP mode work better and make it popular again? If you have a DX11 card, sure it would be cool to see the effects. Global persistent bank. Some weapons should be uber expensive and require a healthy bank account (earned in game) to purchase. NEVER APPLY WEAPON VALUES TO A MICRO ECONOMY. You need to earn the right. If you survive the round you keep the weapon, right? What about storing that gun for later use? Environment damage that effects play (we don't need full destruction on the Bad Company scale, but if a wall falls down and you are under it...) Prone position Leaning Full bullet penetration consideration. If you are behind a wooden door, a 7.62 round should kill. If you are behind a concrete wall, a .50cal round should have the chance to kill. 20) do you love CS & CSS like us and think that 5 years has been long enough between versions? Yes. Go play Call of Duty... IMO CS is great because it doesn't have any of that stuff - if we added perks, prone, lean, riot shield, and even more OP grenades then it's basically MW2. If you're waiting for a good version of MW2, then wait for BF:BC2 or the new Medal of Honor... I hope they turn out well. I'm in the BF:BC2 beta and it's pretty excellent, so I have high hopes.
You ARE right, but the difference would be that Counter Strike would work I desperately want to play MW2, but the level of cheating I have seen just over friends shoulders makes me cringe about buying the PC version.
