    Has it changed in GO?

People have always claimed it's imbalanced and one-sided so if it's the same as it's always been I won't mind because it's never bothered me in the past. It's just very sensitive to player count, with too many players it's too easy for Ts to watch all of the entrances.

The basic layout of the map has always struck me as the most "realistic" map. Terror group has hostages held in a stereotypical factory, counter-terror unit arrives down the street out of sight and approaches the building, infiltrates, and attempts to rescue the hostages. It feels like something right out of a movie.

Fail at the people who are complaining this is a COD Clone when infact COD came out in 2003 and CS was originally released in 1999.

Anyway the game feels a mixture of CSS & CS. Not happy you can only carry one of each grenade and the AK is horrendous. Spray & pray I think applies here.

You just made my CS experience a bazillion times better, and my gameplay a bazillion times worse!

Still not managed to get on properly again since the other night, but Italy looks lush. More so than Aztec anyway, blergh.

Assault looks terrible and blocky, whereas Dust looks very nice and polished.

I think some of the maps have been rush jobs, and as for gameplay, well it's CS, although hit reg seems a bit off. I've watched as I reloaded getting shot at from 2 feet away and still didn't get hit.

The recoil is much less forgiving and has changed. Whether or not it's 'off' is still something I'm holding jury on, it seems fine to me providing I shoot in either single shot or very very controlled 2-3 shot burst..

Well I just played my first game - competitive classic match on Nuke. I love it :D it really takes me back having not played since 1.6. I really like BF3 but I find myself playing city or smaller maps in general - I tend not to play air maps.

I think that CS:GO might now take up a lot of my time. Fingers crossed I can get back involved in the community again. Do clans etc... Still use IRC? Are there still pickup match channels etc?

Any news on that BT CS:GO server Digi started a thread about? :)

Yeah irc is still used, had a look at steam game stats earlier and its sitting about 5th out of 100, 1.6 in 3rd with around 50000 players. If it does pick up and drops in price i might pick it up. But for now its 1.6 and bf3 all teh way.

Going to pick this up tomorrow probably after work. Look forward to playing, haven't play CS for awhile and I much prefer small style maps compared to BF3's massive ones.

I could honestly cry at how terrible I am at this. I used to be pretty darn good at Source lol :(

Am enjoying it though, think I might try some of the casual modes too to get my monies worth. Good practice also

I've played CS since beta 6 (that's about 12-13 years ago) and this is my verdict of the CS timeline:

    beta year(s): awesome
    1.0 - 1.3: super awesome
    1.4-1.5: awesome
    1.6: meeeeehhhh
    CS:S: didnt even bother
    GO: AWESOME.

    :D
