I am ready to smash my computer :wallbash:

    Problem #1
When ever I try to join a game, CS hangs on "Validating Game Resources" on VAC Enabled servers.

    Problem #2
When ever I join a game on NON-VAC servers, Its all normal until I see an enemy, then it laggs like hell with negative fps ranges and looping sounds.

I've reinstalled Steam+CS 3 times already, And i dont want to reformat my computer. I've got nothing to back up 3+ gigs og my data.

Yeah, but I don't have a cd burner lol.

    My specs:
    Amd Athlon 2600+
    Abit NF7
    256mb pc2700 ram
    ATi Radeon 9600se
    80gb Harddrive.

I swear, all of this was normal the other day, until and admin decided to mess around with my client. :(

This problem had a few friends of mine, when they install CS and Steam straight from the internet (I mean download Steam, log in, then download CS). The problem was solved when they installed CS and Steam from CD (which came with PC Games magazine...)

if an admin was messing with your files, just delete config.cfg

do what i told you to do
if you still have the problem, uninstall steam, delete the entire valve folder, remove any remaining registry keys, and then reinstall.

IIRC, Steam-Down is a hacked version of Steam which unlocks all avaliable games for download. If you have a legit account and CD Key why would you use it? Take your warez elsewhere

I had a similar problem, and i tried many things but after defragging it loaded it up, although i am not really sure if it was defragging that helped it (i think it must of been something else, but i cant remember doing anything else at that time)

Zonealarm doesn't suck I'm guessing you didn't configure it properly yourself... :)
