I used to play it a LAN's but then everyone else got better, so I got frustrated with it, and hoped it would die No, I'm a Battlefield 1942 player now.
I use to play it a lot. Now I don't really have time for games... And when I do my soundcard crashes my system. So games are on the back-burner until HL2 comes out and I make my own sound card that works
Yep, still play, but not sure I like the CAL ruling on the shield yet. Still a fun game to play. Just got UT2K3 and I love that as well.
W00T CS 0WNZ0RZ1!!!!1!! 1TS TEH L33T3ST R0X0RING G4M3 EVAR!!!!1!! been playing on n00b serers for too long... must go back to my CAL private server and play with clan...
UT2k3 is an awsome game. Wish I could play it. Lost the first CD and the case it was in that had the CD-Key . Don't really feel like paying for a new CD-Key, so no more UT2k3 for me.
i like cs 1.5 than steam 1.6 but now it has came out, a lot more people are getting it and playing it i wished 1.5 could play on steam 1.6
steam and CS are two totally completely seperate thing. its not steam 1.6 is CS 1.6 and its steam 2.0. I've been playing wth steam since the first day of beta for it. i had absolutely no problems during the beta period. but now, no dice. I've reinstalled Steam more times than windows.
imo they killed the game with there steamid system ( the only reason they switched was because they had to pay to use the wonid system [ im not sure on the exacts about who had to pay who but i know it went somethin like ^ ] ) it was fine the way it was, all they had to do was add the extra stuff and fix some bugs and left the other stuff alone but since i dont really play it anymore ( 5+ years with one game is WAY to long so i gave it up outta pure boredom ) i geuss i shouldnt talk
i was a hardcore cs junkie....then my internet sucked for a while so i started playing battlefield and whatnot... but now my connection is better...so back to cs
how does an id system kill a game? or are you talking about the steam progrm/content delivery system in general? IMO once steam is ironed out (its really reall close) it will be great. I'm already happy with seam simply because of the time its saved me in updating a game. I maean look at all the CS updates. I love not having to hunt down an update but having it installed automatical for me. and it allows them to work with individual bugs in the game/steam much better. instead of waiting until enough fixes are complete for a whole new release. this way problems are solved quicker
in general i agree with you that the system is a good idea, BUT they released it WAY to early (the massive bugs, ect.. ) to be of serious use last i heard from friends there was massive updating and they were HUGE files, and some of the stuff that was supposed to be addressed wasnt
I have never used steam. But I must say, It seems that games like this that need a bagillion patches and are constantly updated aren't all that great IMO. I use to play tactical ops. I played CS but like most of the gameplay better on TO. Im not a fan a CS as I don't see why its so great, or TO for that matter, There are ususall the good people, the bad people and the cheaters. It gets repetitive after a while. So I try to concentrate on RPG's now and just play FPS at lans or when I have absolutely nothing else to play.
Desert Combat all the way. Also, with the edition of the brand new .5 update it's better than ever. Just prepare yourself with loads of RAM not like me puny 256
Absolutely HUGE and I mean HUUUGE maps... Imagine 30 peole on a team playing omaha beach. 30 VS 30 ...
i know. It's the best thing ever to have happened to online gaming... I've been playing it since 0.2 The only bad thing is that in order to fully enjoy DC @ max everything and max sound quality and all, you'll need a system with no real bottlenecks. everything... i'm talking 2ghz class processor, 1 gig or DDR, audigy class sound card, 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound speakers, and you'll need a medium range radeon to run it with antialiasing and anisotropic flitering... And you also need a good stick to fly with... So if you don't already have all this, you're looking at a big bill to get all that. If you lack the ram, you can't play smoothly with high texture detail... if you have an old 3d card, you can't have AA... if you have a lousy stick, you can't fly well, if you have a mouse with only 3 buttons, you can't switch viewmodes as you tank well, not easily. Etc... I'm a happy man though cause i finally have a system with which i can have it all. it's sad that my 9800SE isn't too compatible with linux though, so i'm gonna have to give it up and put up with the jagged edges...
