I did this to a friend of mine's Lian-Li PC-7. Sorry about the crappy pictures. I added an 80mm fan to the top and an extra in the back. I was going to paint the fans flourescent blue, pop a uv-cc inside (it's flourescent plexi), and put a window in the hard drive but I didn't have time. I might do that eventually. I'm proud of the cutout. There ain't nothin' a jigsaw, nibbler, and round file can't do.

    I'm really impressed! Good Job!
Did you put some molding around the edges?
(just curious, so if I do a detailed design later)

There is molding around the top blowholw and www.caseetc.com double sided window molding on the top window. There is no molding around the CS Logo. I just put masking tape on the inside of the door and glue the whole sheet of plexi to the masking tape with Liquid Nails.

wonder if you could get a piece of lexan painted ( semi-transparent) to look like a T wo the ccfl would give it a backlight glowy look

Wow, looks like you did a very quality job there, and spent quite a good amount of time on it. How long around did that take you to finish?

I have yet to do a nice cutout like yours, maby I should try sometime soon? heh

It didn't take all that long...
I cut out large chunks with a jigsaw (~30 min)
Nibbled the rest out (~75 min)
Filed it down smooth (~45 min)
So i guess it was only around 2 1/2 hours to do (and I'm slow).
Some things that slowed me down:
Make sure you use the nibbler in a manner so that it doesn't put stress on the metal from any other direction (i.e. bend the lip down some with each cut). You probably only have to worry about this with thin aluminum, because it causes a slight discoloration of the metal (from bending it just a tad... not even visible bending, just from the discoloration).

    cheers

Agreed neuro, ti's so easy now to crack a headshot off eh, nvmd, the lil bits make it cool.

Btw, awesome cut out, wish i was as artistic enough to even create the rough outline let alone carry out the whole cutting, nice one mate.
