I like the first one a lot. The high-key really works with this photo, and the resulting softness to the image lends a porcelain quality to her skin. There is nice detail in her hair, considering the high-key nature of the photo, but her eyes look a little too dark to me. It could be my monitor (I'm at work at the moment), but I wish there were more detail in her eyes.

I'm not crazy about the second one. It looks like it's trying to be high-key, with color, and in the end the lighting just looks too forced. The bright, yellow light in the middle right is somewhat distracting. Also, I'm not sure the harsh sidelighting is very complementary. I can see how it fits the image (the black corset and all), but I don't think it really works in this case.

I thought you'd broken her waist in the first shot and somehow angled her butt the same side as her front. Then the second shot confirmed it: do you have to hug your missus reaaaaal gently for fear of snapping her in half? :eeek: :eeek: ;)

The first one I need a bigger montior to view, 800px high isnt enough but my screen is sufficiently crap enough to only really pick up on the bottom half of the pic and one leg and shadow. The bottom half definately looks good though :thumb:

The second I don't really get. She just looks cold. Im not fussed with the forced yellow but the red is a nice shade. Im not sure, I just don't know, it leaves me feeling moot the more I look at it. I want to like it but I can't stem an emotion to it :(

I like the second one.....from the side she reminds me of Gong Li.

And how iny is her waist? looks like a size 6-8 to me.

Like the first one a lot, love the "softness" of it.
How small is her waist :jawdrop:

I love the softness if the first shot, but feel it would be better without her hand being visible, maybe just showing the shoulder.
I think her hand distracts from those lovely eyes.

Not a bit fan of the background colours in the second, for me a much darker background would have given better results.

Cheers for the feedback. Not sure about the second one either. I think I just like the colours, but as for teh shot, it lacks something. I'm happy with the first shot tho.

She's wearing a corset, hence the tiny 18 inch waist.. but she's only got a 22 inch waist anyway :hehe: Good guess at size 6 (UK).

I've got others in RAW I've still to dev through when I get the time.

That's just it, I can't put my finger on it either :/

Am I missing something in the first one or do I have to see it on a taller screen?

i can't see why screen size would affect it.. you can always scroll. It starts with her knees at the top, and goes down to her hairline at the bottom.

First one looks very subtly and delicate, like thin white porcelain with light shining through it. The second is not quite right, I can't put my finger on it but at a guess I would say, the red tone doesn't go with skin, it brings out the surface texture too much and tends to make skin look burnt. Also the pose in the second looks unnatural, unlike the first where it looks natural, very defensive, innocent and pure.
