I just built a new acrylic pc, all new hardware, I have an ABIT NF7-s2 mb and installed a Seagate 160gb hd, my system will only see 137gb. I have flashed the bios and still missing over 20gig.

Second thing. when I scroll on my old pc the window is very choppy not smooth like before.

    Can anyone assist?
    Thanks

As far as the 137gb hdd problem sounds like you've not got SP1 or 2 installed. This is a common bug with XP.

I think partition tools like partition magic can combine the two data areas as long as you haven't formatted the 20gig.

When i put in a 200GB drive in my system windows actually asked me if i wanted to enable support for large drives (over 137GB).

I have no idea on how to enable it manually, though...

Go to Maxtor.com and download the "big drive enabler tool", should sort it out for you ;)

Will the Maxtor work even though it's a Seagate?
