All the ones that I've used in the past seem to have changed their terms and conditions to either not offer compensation for damage to PC monitors or they simply won't carry them at all any more.

Does anyone know of a courier company that carries PC monitors and offers compensation should they damage them?

    Cheers

Pretty sure is a universal no-no for all the big shipping companies - you might have better luck with a smaller "man in a van" company like Grab it & Run?

How far are you looking to ship it? They typically won’t cover any damages, though they used to still take them in the past.

Have you tried using a comparison site like Parcel Monkey? They ask what it is and it will flag as an item that they may not carry.

    Give it a try. :)

As a retail customer, none of the major carriers will insure screens for damage or sometimes even loss.

If you or a friend work for a company with a commercial account they might cover you if negligence is easy to prove, but it's unlikely.

Package excessively and cross your fingers!

Chances are that won't be an option as it'd be a fair distance I'd guess... I'll look them up though.

Good idea however as I found out in the past it's Parcel Monkey who offer the compensation of parcels booked through them, not the company actually delivering your parcel, and Parcel Monkey do not compensate for loss or damage for monitors.

I always find it a massive p***-take that companies won't even cover you for them losing your parcel if it contains a 'restricted' item. Damage I can understand but not loss... Maybe I'll have to just take my chances and advertise locally or something along those lines...

    Edit:

It's possible that I've just found one - ipostparcels (which really is UK Mail / DHL) say that they will not offer compensation for "Televisions or other electronic graphical display equipment with screen size exceeding 37 inches". I've messaged them to confirm that this definitely means that smaller monitors would be covered (mainly just to get it in writing) but that looks promising at least for now.

    Edit 2:

I've just had confirmation from ipostparcels that monitors are covered.
    So that's good to know

DPD or Royal Mail will take screens I think. We stopped using TNT as they refused to cover laptops we were shipping to our Irish office

We use either DHL or Royal Mail to send Monitors, LCD Panels or laptops around.

If you can get them to actually come, anyway. I booked IPostParcels to collect a Psion I was returning to TNMOC on Wednesday for a Friday delivery: £13. Thursday collection comes, and I get a text from UK Mail saying the driver tried and failed to collect - a lie. I get in touch, and I'm offered a £1 discount now my next-day delivery will take four days. I tell 'em to shove it and cancel the whole thing.

Friday comes: "our driver attempted collection." Again, a lie. I post the thing Royal Mail Special Delivery (£8.40) instead.

Monday: driver actually turns up this time, asking where the parcel is. I tell him it's long gone. "Our driver attempted collection..."

    Today: "our driver attempted collection..."

Excited to see what tomorrow brings now!
