Torture and indefinate confinement without trial are the official policy of the United States. Does that answer the question as to why I want to leave?

So basically these people are being held without evidence of their guilt and are, in fact, being considered to already be guilty and have to prove their innocence. Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"?

It's not just unconstitutional, I'd also bet money that it contravenes the Geneva Convention.

So that should mean also that America has no right to try them either. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Alternatively, if they're to be defined as "enemy combatants" they should be left alone to defend themselves as they see fit from attack (this is a War on terror remember) not held indeffinately without charge waiting for some farcical hearing.
Sorry, but what was that message? Government America doesn't really care for the rights of people anymore. I think I've got the message clear enough.

They may kidnap, imprison indefinitely without trial and torture on a whim, but it is nice to know that the US government draws a line somewhere. As long as they are not quite as bad as the Bad Guys, they are the Good Guys.

The moral high ground is measured in inches, it appears.

You can drown in one and a half inches of water.
