Hi all, just been tweaking some settings in windows to improve my SSD performance and thought I would run the CPC benchmarks suite again. Here are the results:

    system:

    CPU: i7 920 @ 3.70ghz (185x20) with HyperThreading on
    MOBO: P6T SE - Uncore @ 2.96ghz
    QPI Link @ 6.66ghz
    RAM: 6GB XMS3 @ 1480mhz (7-8-7-20, 2T)
STORAGE: Samsung PB22J SSD (VBM1901Q firmware)

    Results:

    Image editing: 1568 points.
    Video encoding: 2872 points.
    Multitasking testing: 1568 points.
    Overall score: 2003 points.

Feel free to post your scores. Will be nice to see different system configs scores.

    Right, comparison time:

    Image editing: 1002 points.
    Video encoding: 1353 points.
    Multitasking testing: 637 points.
    Overall score: 997 points.

    That's on a laptop, with an i5-520M (that's a 2.4GHz dual-core, with Turbo Boost + HT) and 4GB DDR3.
It's well and truly beaten by 920s
The CPU gets to 74 degrees C during the benchmark

Furmark: Benchmarking, 1024x768 (because my screen only has 768 vertical pixels), Xtreme Burning, 60 seconds, no MSAA or displacement mapping or post FX.

286 points with ATi Mobility 5650 1GB (avg 5 fps)

I'm not sure everything was right with it though, because it only hit 61 degrees C, whereas playing FUEL it will get to >70.

If it used the GPU as well, does that mean my score would have been a lot better because of my 5670?

I'll add a Furmark benchmark to my post above to test the GPU, and I'll post settings too.

I actually happened to have run these out of curiosity yesterday.

    My laptop got around 800:
    2ghz C2D
    2gig RAM
    80gig 7200RPM HDD
    512mb 7900GTX
    XP Pro

    My work desktop about 900:
    3ghz C2D
    4gig RAM
    160gig HDD
    4350
    7 Pro

My desktop got less than 700!
    Athlon X2 3800+
    2gig
    several Sammy HDDs
    4350
    7 Pro

So you're doing ok, don't sweat it!!

    Multitasking testing: 1708 points.
    Overall score: 2204 points.

This is the score that I posted in an earlier thread at 4ghz.

Not too bad but I'm still trying to overcome the throttling that I have experienced with my current setup. I can post at 4.5ghz but it throttles to 4.3ghz. I haven't completed the benchmarks at these speeds.

I'll have another go tomorrow to see if it can give me a bit more oomph.

Just for info I have a Powercolor 4870 1gb. Only just noticed its not in my sig.

FYI - you'll get a more consistent score if you run the test 3 times. The first time is nearly always low.
