Next month's TF2 Reader's Night, on 3 March, will be our last using the TF2 server @ 85.236.101.92:27315 This leaves us with a dilemma, which will be easily resolved by you guys. If it's getting zero use we'll close it up. We don't really need to do that, but there's no sense in having an empty server just sitting out in internet land. On the other hand if it's seeing some use by readers, even if it's a slow start, we'll keep the server running. Currently we only have two active admins on there : Dingle and Fu Manchu. Well and myself I suppose. If you need assistance hit them up on Steam friends or send a chat request through the CPC steam Group @ http://steamcommunity.com/groups/custompc . If, the server does start getting regular players we'll start thinking about adding new admins. A word of warning about this: people who ask don't get. So don't ask for admin, it pretty much kills your chances. We'll pick the first set of admins from responsible players we already know, and then we'll go from there. Being an admin is niether awesome, cool, or even interesting. People who ask for admin normally find this to be a horrible disappointment - this is why people who ask don't get. That and they tend to flip out and become drunk on e-power - like me.
Just to clarify... the Readers Nights will continue but the server might only be available on that night and not 24/7?
Reader's Night will be rolling over to the BC2 server. The BC2 server will be up 24/7. The TF2 server will close if it remains unused.
I'm always up for a game of TF2. feel free to PM me here to set a game up. or add me to steam. http://steamcommunity.com/id/unknowngamer_mega_bite/ I play under my Mega_bite name most of the time.
The only way to do it is to drag people from steam friends into the game when you go. As a CSS admin you should have admin status in there mega. I'll probably need to give you RCON or something because there's no mani plugin AFAIK.
Oh, that's a shame. I like playing TF2 because it's fun. Bad Company 2 seems to serious for my liking...
It depends if you think loading up a quad bike with C4 and launching it at a tank is serious business. Like I say if we can keep the servers in use we don't have to turn them off. Reader's night has always cycled through new games, we've run CSS, BF2, CoD4, and TF2 in the past. It just mixes it up a bit. The BF2 games were really good, actually.
I use to enjoy BF2 for a bit but still wander back to CSS. And Rogz, i use that trick to blow up that thing every round =D
