+1 at Joekerh. He is on a roll today. :hip:

I just use kitchen roll, because I CBA to clean the TIM off properly. It's really not recommended though, I probably have old TIM and kitchen roll fibres all over the heatspreader  And I'm probably gonna get beaten down for posting that I do that >.>

I worry about kitchen roll scratching a mirror surface. It is paper after all. Of course its only a problem on shiny heatsink bases and lapped CPUs.

Alcohol prep pads and a coffee filter to wipe it down..

Dunno the point of using any different liquid, what else can that Akasa stuff be made of than 100% isopropyl alchol?

"Tim Clean is a citrus based solvent and is safe to use." Quote from the Akasa site.

    Arcticlean TIM remover:
    D-Limonene
    Methyl Esters of Soybean Oil
    Non-Ionic Surfactant

    Thermal surface purifier:
    Dipropylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether
    Azole-Triazole Inhibitor
    Proprietary Inhibitor (non-Hazmat, TSCA listed)

    From the MSDS sheets...

Lemme rephrase, what can it do better than 100% isopropyl. Thanks for the detailed answer though, :)
