    Hi All,

Recently my Gelid Tranquillo fan has stopped spinning properly, frequently causing a BIOS alarm. The fan either spins as normal (not very often), or the RPMs drop down to maybe 100 or so. I rebuilt my rig to clean it all out, partially hoping that dust had something to do with the problem but it didn't help :(

I have tried plugging a stock cooler fan into my P8P67 Pro board and that fan spins fine, so I'm guessing my fan is just broken! Can I just order any 120mm PWM fan and stick it on the front of my Gelid heatsink? Any other ideas/recommendations?

    Thanks in advance!

    James

Any fan will do to be honest. The chances are that the fan is a little worn out as it is quite old by the sounds of it.

So you reckon just order any 120mm fan off scan or wherever? Any recommendations for a moderately priced, quiet fan I could use?

Maybe go for one geared towards static pressure rather than air flow. But yeah, any pwm fan will do the job. Noctua tend to be a favoured brand, but they are expensive and tend to be ugly.

Yeah a static pressure job would be your best bet! The EK Vardar ones are supposed to be good!
