ive got a Tt 6 CU+ on my CPU right now... it sounds like a friggin hair dryer!!! i was wonderin if i put the fan from my Tt 5 on there, with the 6 heatsink, if i would notice a big diff in temp, cause the 5 fan spins at quite a bit lower RPM.... im hookin up a rheostat soon for the rest of my fans to quiet it down, cause right now its soundin like an airplane, and im not likin it too much..... any other ideas to tame this beast?

This what I did to my FOP-38

It's a Sanyo Denke 92mm fan that turns at 3200 RPM yet moves 55CFM of air. It replace the 7200 RPM Delta Black label 38CFM is is a lot quieter :D However my CPU temp is slightly higer due to the dead zone under the fan motor. What would really optimize this set-up would be a fan reducer/adapter, moving the fan further away from the heatsink.

Still I'm able to OC to the same as the Delta, yet I don't get that Delta Whine.

The measure dB of the Sanyo is 45dB, measured 6" away.

I've got a black label screamer on my cpu too...I can barely hear it, though! Just slap one of these suckers on it!

When I'm just sitting here surfing Bit-Tech, my fan runs at a little over 4300rpm (and that's all the way down, no need to worry about stalling). When I'm gaming, or watching a movie, or anything that's really cpu intensive, I can crank it back up over 7000rpm with a twist of a dial. Plus it had the added bonus of giving me an excuse to add more chrome to my case! Shiny!! :)
Anyone who DOES do this mod though, a bit of advice. Make sure you give yourself PLENTY of extra wire, so you can put your dial wherever you want it, and leave the yellow rpm monitoring wire intact...it makes MBM WAY more fun!
