So I've always used Core Temp... I've just put an incredibly mild OC on my CPU (Athlon X2 255) from 3.1 to just under 3.2 GHz and Core Temp just has Temp (0C?).

Anyone any suggestions or ideas of other programmes I could use?

    Thanks

    Zinf.

    EDIT:

    I'm lying.

Hardware Monitor is also failing to pick up the temps :S. How odd.

Sounds like a dodgy temperature sensor to me. You could try resetting the BIOS to optimised defaults to see if that makes a difference but I'm not sure it will. Were you getting a sensible temperature reading before you applied the overclock? If you didn't keep an eye on your temps before then you may only have noticed this problem recently but it may have been there for a while. If so, this problem and your overclock may not even be related.

That's the thing. I've always used Core Temp and it's always been fine. The temp is still showing up in Bios but not on any tools. In fact I checked it right before the overclock to gauge base temp, applied the OC and then game over temp wise.

Is there an upgrade available for the BIOS?

Might be worth checking out the changelog to see if it's mentioned as an issue with overclocking.

There has been one update on the bios on this board which I'll stick on. Nothing in the change log about it though but apparently this update increases stability...

    Cheers

Isn't there an option in coretemp to read from alternate sensors? might not be as accurate but at least it's something.

Can only assume it would be the other sensors you get on HW monitor as that has an S load of sources.

    Ok, BIOS updated, no change!

Woe is me... or my mother board anyways.

I Don't think it is, can't seem to find it in the coretemp options, maybe it was realtemp.

    I'm a tit.

I also ran CPU unlocker earlier to see if it'd work. It seems that stops you getting temp read backs in the normal way however in HWM TMPIN0 appears to be the CPU temp also (Or it at least rises in the manner expected when Prime 95 is turned on).

I'll have a look see if there's anything I can do to fix it.

HWM TMPIN0 seems to be closely related to core temps, on most boards anyway. From what I understand that TMPIN0 sensor is usually in/under the CPU socket (sensor locations vary), whereas the core temps are read directly on-die. My TMPIN0 is usually 1-2deg off from core.
