    Hi

    I use the latest versions of CoreTemp and SpeedFan to monitor my CPU temperatures, but the CoreTemp readings are always 10 degrees C above SpeedFan's.

    Which program is correct?

    I have a Q6600 2.4GHz with the stock cooler.

    EG- Core 0

    SpeedFan = 39 C
    CoreTemp = 49 C

    These are idle temps.

    Thanks

    Using the stock cooler I'd be tempted to say CoreTemp is giving a more realistic temperature, although all internal temp sensors are just guesswork really.

    Throw an extra spanner in the works and download real temp. See which two look similar, leaving you with the one which must be anomalous :)

    I couldn't get RealTemp to install but Hardware Monitor from the same people that make CPU-Z confirms the readings of CoreTemp.

    Thanks for the help. :)
