I have a few questions about CPUs & graphic cards.

    1. In many graphic cards i have seen an HDMI connector and they mention things such "bulit in HDMI with 7.1 surround sound" How can u get the sound output from a graphic card.

    2. When i was readin about the core i7 975 i got to know that it has 4 cores and 8 threads. What are these threads?

    3. My graphic card is an HIS 4650. When i checked the outputs it has 2 DVIs and 1 S-video. Does it mean i can connect 3 displays?

    4. Which is better regarding the quality of the output, displayport or HDMI?

    5. I have seen ATI 5 series Graphic cards with more than 3 outputs. Then y does ATi say that Eyefinity only supports 3 displays.

Pls write the question no. when answering

Sound over HDMI on graphics card

A thread is an instruction. Very simple example you run multiple programs (some programs have 2 or more but for simplicity say a program is one thread). Your core can assign itself to run up to 8 at the exact same time. If you give it more it simply breaks those threads up and splits the worload if a core is free. This happens thousands of times a second.
    thats taken from here

No, not neccessarly. Most graphics cards can only support 2 out of 3 ports. The HD5xxx series can support 3 out of 4. This is to do with the ports sharing connections. The next round of HD5xxx cards will support 6 monitors using display port.

Both have their advantages but quality of picture wise I think theyre the same. from wiki cause Im getting lazy looking for links

    see question 3.

    hope that helps
