    im currently trying to work out a piece of kit to reset a pc when it crashes i was thinking of a program running in the back ground setting a pin of the parallel port high low high low etc but i need a circuit to turn this into a reset if it stops then wait 4 the pc to boot b4 it start monitoring again

    ne ideas

    You want a watchdog chip. Rapidelectronics/RS/Farnell sell them.

    I'm a bit hazy here as my pc hasn't crashed for a few months, but won't Scandisk halt things if it finds anything to correct? I know you can let it auto-correct, but I like to know what the b*gg*r is up to :worried:

    i turned scandisc off it annoys me and its an old pc
