Ok my prob is when i play UT2k4 or any 3D games my system sometimes freezes or it crashes the whole thing.
I'm running everything stock, specs are a gigabyte 7vaxp, a 2500 XP and an ATI 9500 pro.Mem is 1.5 gig of ddr 2700 333 kingston
Heat is definately not a problem on cpu or video card.
Could a 3.3 line at 3.14 or a bit lower be the problem, cause it dosn't happend every time, sometimes i can play 5 or 6 games and sometimes not even one :wallbash:

I installed the new spybot remover from microsoft and zone alarm firewall (it's all configured for gaming) that's all i installed lately

    Any help welcome :worried:

    have you run Adaware?

    www.lavasoft.com iirc

Also, what drivers are you running for both motherboard and video card?

It might be worth giving your PSU a clean out, a dusty PSU means that it is less efficient, as it runs warmer. ;)

I'd imagine 3D problems will be due to graphics card problems. Have you got the latest drivers?

Always, i work on it when i have time and it seems to take longer to happend when i overvolt the cpu in the bios, maybe just an imbalence in the settings that i threw off when i reinstalled windows not too long ago.
But then again stock settings shouldn't reboot a system while playing a 3d game :worried:

I'm almost to the point of asking myself if a video card can be incompatible with a certain motherboard :grr:
Or can a faulty video card do this without any reasons :eyebrow:

Checked that too with gigabyte, i have the latest.
Beginning to think it's a video card malfunction, it worked perfect and all of a sudden problems ??

ATI 9500 up to 9800 all have 3D problems. Need to make sure you have installed the latest drivers (Although this can be a bit hit and miss).
Also, some machines don't seem to like 8X on the AGP slot (so setting to 4X might solve the problem?).
There is lots of info if you search google about these problems.
I had this problem, but fixed it with driver update.

I could get a hold of a 9000 pro, same drivers as the 9500 pro and surprise it works, no more crashes.3d UT2K4 works flawlessly, but at much lower settings. So it's the video card, i dont know exactly what it is, but it seems that it dosn't digest my gigabyte motherboard loll, or as Henchman:crg said, ATI 9500 up to 9800 all have 3D problems and sadly i experienced one.
I'll still have to work on a cure for my problem, i cant just throw a 9500 away, i dont have that kind of budget :sigh:
Next i'll try another motherboard see if it works with another make. :eyebrow:
