[stolen from hackaday] http://www.we-make-money-not-art.com/archives/006737.php this door is so sweet, i wonder how hard it would be to make one, i want to build my own house when i'm older, rich, and famous
no man, lucky you don't have realplayer. if hell had a soundtrack, it would be on RealAudio.. or so i've heard
They'd be great if they actually worked. Check out the guy at the end who would crack his head on the door if he hadn't waved his hand in front of the sensors. Nice idea though.
awesome!! if you want to watch/listen to real files use real alternative no crapware and it's not slow.
Can't play the damn video file. Why in godsname don't people use STANDARD video formats? And charl3s_fatal1ty ; your avator shows your a mac-fan, then why are you linking to a .exe file.. Back to subject: Yeah cool doors, but I don't imagine it being very practical. Not cheap either. L
I'm a mac wanter not a mac owner. I was close to getting an iMac G5 but my PC will suffice then I'll get a MacTel when I REALLY NEED to upgrade
Wow, that's a classy door tbh. It'd totally freak people out though, and they'd keep wandering in and out of it until it broke. Well said.
How hard would it be to make something like that? It looks like it's just an ir proximity sensor at the end of each of the bars. hmm Also, as charl3s_fatal1ty said, use real alternative. It uses media player clasic to play realmedia files.
i guess they don't really have to worry much about people getting near the top of the door in japan... this sucks, i'm 6' 4"
nice idea, shame it doesnt work perfectly, if they could get the door to open to just the right amount aswell rather than about a foot too wide with some of them. also i noticed the reasoning was to prevent pollen and insects getting through and for walk in freezers, in that case they need it to close sooner after the person has gone through, they could put sensors on the insides of the sliders to detect if there is anything in the doorway rather than just detecting if anything is infront of it
