I am having some problems with my DVD-RW/CD-RW drive, what I need to do is create an ISO image of some files which are on the hard drive. I was planning to copy it onto CD, then create an ISO image from the disk. However I cant burn a disc at the mo.

So, is there a program that will allow me to create an ISO from the HDD, not from the CD?

    thanks in advance!

Most CD burning software allows you to select an "image" recorder. This will save your CD project
onto your HDD as an iso or the software's own equivalent for later burning.

What I mean is that I have a bunch of files (about 580MB) on my HDD, but I wish to turn it into an ISO image, it is not on disk at the mo cos my CD-RW doesnt seem to be working properly, its on the HDD, I want a program that will allow me to turn normal stuff on the computer into an ISO, without copying onto disk.

    just like IanW said.

Go to nero (or other) select the files. when you get to the select recorder option select (image) or Hard Drive and then you'll get a save as box then it'll make the image and save to disk

You can also usually find a freeware/shareware version of WinImage. THat will let you save to .ISO formats.
