    There are other similar external soundcards but the creative is probably the best and with the most functions

    The extigy is less good than the audigy 1, because although it claims 24/96, this claim is even more tenuous than that of the audigy 1. Read THG's article on it for details.

    My SB live works fine with VIA chipset since bios ZT was released by abit way back when. Well over 18 months ago.

    Unfortunately, the quality of sound output isn't great. Even on the most level possible playing field, my hifi completely destroys it. Note responses to my recent thread about quality-biased soundcard. Also please read the previous thread where someone was asking about the audigy.
