I've built a website for a local business it's not live yet as i still need to finalise content and images so there is some inconsistancies in images. But the layout and navigation are all done (still tweaking IE6 faults!!!!) http://www.tmp-architects.co.uk/defaul.html Cheers in advance.
i don't know why, but (at work) there's a small piece of the "main frame" missing. it's in the upper left corner, a small fragment (approx. 15 pixels high, 2-3 pixels wide at 1680x1050) dissappears. don't know if it's like that for everyone. (running xp, ie something (7?) ) otherwise, it's a nice site, simple, clean and not impossible to navigate
thanks for your comments much appreciated! Don't know if you can send me a screen dump of the issue plus letting me know for def what verison of IE your using? Cheers
That's great, will check in Ie 7 only checked in 8. Looks like something isn't lining up. Does the shadow line up at each corner? Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
From an accessibility point of view you shouldnt miss the alt tags from your images. Ensure you properly describe the image.
I tried it in firefox (1024x768) and I can't see the footer, infact the page stops half way down the word partnership with no option to scroll down. It's fine with chrome
Yes, looks nice. The images load fast. One thing I noticed though (in Firefox 3.6.12) is that after I clicked on a non-home link (e.g. projects) and then back on "home" the space comes up empty and remains empty. Every time. You may want to fix that. Btw, when I did my first website I too had to work out a few IE6 kinks...so annoying! (Especially that many actually still use that old browser!)
Yes, same story in Chrome (7.0.517.44) and I know you're problem - You have it hyper linked to a page called 'default.html' but in your original post you directed us to a page called 'defaul.html' just rename the 'defaul.html' to 'default.html' Otherwise it's a very nice site
Ok fixed the ie7 issues! Also the defaul.html issue has been done on purpose, dropping the t prevents anyone coming across an incomplete website, whilst allowing me to check loading times and cross-platform compatibility. Anymore suggestions or issues would be great. Another forum mentioned the shadows but didn't specify anything. Any comments? Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
IMO, id make the images on the home page scroll a little faster. the first time i visited, i had already selected a button from the menu, and gone to that page before the first picture scrolled. so it wasnt until my second visit that i discovered there was a slideshow.
Works beautifully on my iPhone 4 4.2.1 (why don't more websites works this well on my phone..) Don't see any problems on Chrome 8.0.552.215 on mostly up to date Ubuntu 10.10.
The images seem to have a transparency where there would be pure white, which therefore shows the beige? background, not a biggy just seems to detract from the images. This is win7 with the latest FF
this is just to prevent page being accessible easily by the general public. it'll be fine when it goes live which i hope will be this week. Yippy!!!! launch party here we come!!!! - lol
images haven't been signed off and am not a whizz with images and i set the compression too low. will be sorted when i get the signed off images.
