Is very annoying. If it even senses that you may be approching the menu section headers, it pops open and obscures them. Please try and make it a little less sensitive. Ta.

What browsers are you guys using? I've not got any issues even at 1pixel to the actual advert...

That's what I've found having just tested it, but I will pass this feedback on.

I've noticed it once or twice, too. I can't remember whether it was at work or at home (IE: IE7 or Firefox 2.0.0.6), though.

Just happened to me in work now. Using IE7, went to click the link to the forum and the box dropped for the crucial ad just as I clicked.

I'm looking in IE7 now and I'm sitting over the forum link and it's not appearing. If, however, I overshoot with the mouse and touch the ad, it does expand. Are you definitely not going anywhere near the ad?

I'm trying to recreate the problem from here. :)

Typically, at home anyway, I'll be moving the cursor to the site from the right hand side, below the level of the ad (Typically I open Firefox, open the dailies, and open some stuff on the other screen, then come back as the dailies have usually loaded, of which Bit-Tech is the top of the pile). As far as I can remember, I'm usually bellow the ad line, because MPC opens closer to the taskbar, as do Thunderbird and Skype - Much lower than the uppermost advert.

At work, if I'm scrolling, I scroll with the cursor in the bottom left - I find most of the sits I hit are less advert populated in that corner :B

The cursor was just under the OR in forums when the ad popped for me.

Some of us would like to continue to support the site, so by highlighting these issues hopefully Dennis/bit-tech will take notice and correct the problem.

It is really annoying. I keep simply moving my cursor over it and clicking the forums but it's opened and I click the advert. I'd rather not have to dodge adverts to get to the navigation.

I've seen this on other websites actually, it looks like a bug in the flash mouseover detection code that has the detection field set to the enlarged size rather then the default.

Wholeheartedly agree with this one - very annoying. Any fold-out (or whatever it's called) add is really annoying... it is MY screen, stuff shouldn't just expand simply because I mouse over it (and if it insists on doing this, it should go back to its original space the moment my mouse leaves that!).:eyebrow:
Same with the Empire - total war add on the top.
Starting to seriously consider add-blockers which would be a shame as I don't want to take income away from you guys. Hrmpf.
