XD It came from when my housemate back at uni helped me get the router up and running. At the end he said "right, dont go watching loads of dirty porno, no bloody, ....asian poo grannies!"

    And that was that.

ah these joystick guys, ...soo jealous, here I am with mouse and keyboard. :p Flying with direction keys then trying to shoot off missle with numpad 0 brings me out in a right case of derp.

My clan is now thoroughly dead, originally called Jolt Veterans (Tag: Jvet), then later changed thier name to FSFA gaming. The dedicated BF2 server is just a wandering zombie with noone on it anymore. Used to be packed with 3-4 squad per side ALL using voip. Some of the best city-maps players the game has ever had. Cursed BC2 knifed it in the face though .......sigh.

LOL. RS White has started playing BF2 recently again. I will send him here when he gets online soon.

I have BC2, completed single player and played multi a little but haven't touched it for ages.

That's some cool stuff, but what about new benchmarks for the new eye candy? I haven't played it yet, so I'm curious what the new features do to performance. Plus I'd like to see you guys run it on a "recommended" system with an SSD and 2 gtx 590's with everything cranked on. The nerd in me has to ask.

BTW the facial movement stuff was in HL 2, they just added more facial detail in ep 1 and 2. I think lip movement is the best way to tell if something is CGI or not. It's just not quite there yet. Tough thing to get just right IMO.

    Graphics update is amazing.

Still screen shots do not do it justice by any means. A lot of the effects are quite subtle and it is seeing the game in action and immersing yourself in the game world that allows them to shine through.

I would suggest that a large proportion of people who are negative about Crysis 2 have one of the following axes to grind:

Crysis 2 was also released on other formats.
Crysis 2 did not feature Direct X 11 from its initial release.
Crysis 2 did not push release date graphical hardware as much as Crysis 1.
Crysis 2 does not work on their rig very will (for any number of reasons)

Its does not have game breaking gameplay, and it is not perfect. However it is a good fun game, a blast to play though once or twice and if you have the rig to handle the latest graphical update it looks absolutely amazing.

I am not championing the game or saying it is the best thing since sliced bread, but its a fun game with cool graphics and does not deserve the level of loathing it seems to have generated with some individuals.

If you get a chance to pick it up cheap then give it a bash.I got mine for 17 quid and no doubt about it got my moneys worth out of it.

Not too sure what is going on here - i dont have an uber quad sli/crossfire with i7 extreme 6 core processor.......i have a meak GTX460 1gb, AMD PhenomII 965BE (stock speed) MSI 890FXA-GD70 mobo, 8gb Ram, 1TB HDD & 64GB SSD (All games are on the (HDD - windows only on SSD).
I can run this game on that set up (screen res 1680x1050) with all the bells and whistles switched on - with (so far) NO performance hit. Looks good, runs great.

...the patches offer substantial, if incremental graphics updates...

Maybe someone can explain how something can be substantial and incremental at the same time.

I usually come to this site for straight reviews on things, but it appears you are bending over backwards to say something good about crysis 2.

I enjoy playing the game some, but found the minor visual differences provided DX11 and the textures not to be worth the loss in frame rates.

And I don't think your own images show how little change there really is.

Still prefer crysis 1... Looks better, plays better, would probably taste better if I could lick it.

I reinstalled Crysis 1 a few months ago. Even on max detail the textures look somewhat cartoony compared to Crysis 2 even in DX9. It certainly doesn't look better. You might say the game play is better but by the time Warhead was released I was tired of jungle walking and snow fights. Crysis 2 gives me the change I needed.

I suspect a lot of the complainers haven't actually bothered to play Crysis 2 or play it very far. It just becomes more or less a game to see who can trash it the most. A sad reflection of a spoiled brat society.

No but I would like to be. I just get sick of all the complaining. I've played through Crysis 2 quite far (just past a section where crap-load of aliens were coming at me) and the game is a lot of fun. I think I can generally tell when a game is crap (uninstalled Duke Nukem F after an hour's game-play).

I think we increasingly live in a society that bitches and complains about everything. I remember the endless complaining about Crysis 1, now Crysis 2 is here the endless bitching has shifted to that.

I totally get that Crytek screwed up with the PC version. Now the 1.9/DX11 is finally here at least it was worth the wait. I wonder perhaps if Crytek should just ditch PC gamers completely since all they seem to do is complain. I'm a PC gamer, don't have a console but I am sick of the negativity towards what is actually a pretty good game.

To me you all come across as little school-yard bullies who get a kick out of trashing something. It's like you're all competing to see who can be the most negative in order to impress the other little rats.

I wonder also if you're trying to dissuade people from playing the game.

If Crysis 2 is so ****... What games would you recommend?

Free to play. Haven't spent much time on it yet. Certainly hasn't held my interest like C2 or Portal 2 or L4D2.

    Greetings!
I only spent there 563 hours... The "freebies" are finally learning the game.
Portal 2 and L4D2 are good also. As is Shogun 2.

What's this Hat thing all about? Are they real hats?

Not tried Shogan 2. I do play RTS once in a while.
