Crysis did look ok with DX9 but hopefully DX11 will bring more to the table than looking pretty. Personally I'd rather have it improve performance too ie. runs better in DX11 than DX9.
I'm waiting for it to come to Steam so I can buy it ... Will be interesting to hear what you guys think of the patch.
well its a start to fixing it, when the SDK comes out you watch the cry mod community tear it to ****, i forsee larger versions of current SP maps, the radial menu being fixed and the suit modes being split again. new suit modules to balance things out. fov and other fixes
Agreed. The community are itching to get into it. Heres to hoping the sandbox comes with the dx11 and hi-res texture pack next week
Crysis 2 DX11 and High Res Textures Update As a number of users were able to download the DX11 and High res texture packages from our test environment we would like to take this opportunity to explain how these files will work and our future plans via a short FAQ; Where can I download these files? We have removed the files from our websites until the full release date. How do I install these packs? Both the DX11 and High Res texture packages require Crysis 2 PC Patch 1.9 to work. Please note that the files will not work without the PC patch scheduled for release on Monday, more information about this including all download links will be made available to you via MyCrysis.com and our social network pages. I was really looking forward to Crysis 2 and i bought it and i did enjoy it, Thought it might have been great or awful, but it was in the middle. Didn't take long to finish so i played it twice. This might make me play it again just for something to do for an afternoon.
I wonder if any of the features in the patch will work on DX10 hardware, Tessellation excluded of course.
Until we get the legit texture patch this is looking pretty sweet: http://maldotex.blogspot.com/ I havn't tried it out yet but the screenshots look jaw-dropping. You'll have to swap the exe out for the 1.1 version but he's got a download for it on the site. Edit Here's one comparison:
