i'd be tempted to buy the game just for that if it was still on steam, heh

 

This update does give me a good excuse to go back and play it through.

The game looks miles better than it did. I am running everything maxed and getting roughly 30fps.

Side note... Love that the pc retail box says plays best on alienware... Lol doubt it!

 

I'm working away till Wednesday. So I can't download this patch yet

The tessellation on brick walls is definitely noticeable.

 

post processing and effects are much MUCH better

actually looks like a car exploding now.

 

Does that mean I can re-enable motion blur without throwing up after five minutes?

 

Not so smooth 20fps with everything on ultra!

 

I installed the high res textures but not noticing a difference?

EDIT: A lot of the textures have become very pixelated since installing the high res texture pack...

 

With Core i5 750 & hd5850 dx11 on ultra runs at 20 fps min, set back to extreme with game effects on ultra it's running at about 50fps

I didn't see any mention of better AI, and I still can't buy it on Steam, so there are a couple of things still to be fixed. But well done Crytek for putting up with the backlash from spoilt PC gamers, and releasing the update.

DVD copy doesn't need a disc

 

This was released when? it didn't have DX11 already? atleast hi-res textures? = EPIC Fail!! Another reason im glad i didn't waste my money on it. i quit buying crysis after EA told me i'd have to buy crysis warhead to get my crysis/crysis multiplayer patch/update. Seems the "pirates" stole it all.

 

Wow that's starting to look more like it. I might have to get this.

Does it look better than Crysis 1 yet? I upgraded my PC and I want to show it off, not sure what to install.

In my opinion, definately. Of course it doesn't have lush jungles which are naturally pretty anyway but it looks amazing for an urban shooter.
