I wasn't much of a fan of fighting the aliens in Crysis + Warhead, blasting the Koreans was much more fun. I hope this one turns out well
I doubt even one of those screenshots is in-game footage. Anyone remember the pre-release screenshots and videos of Crysis? Or the 'real life vs Crysis' comparison screenshots? Yeah. Right.
Good Points New suit abilities sound fun, and if there's some humanoid aliens, they'll be more fun to fight than all the flying aliens in crysis 1, the marketing hype about "Now, every attack shall be a new challenge for the player" sounds good, as long as it has some substance and isn't just marketing hype. Another human faction you get to fight, could be fun. " New vertical gameplay: when in Crysis, you could only climb a car or a small hill, but now you've got more possibilities how to act". Climbing up buildings and snipering, and diving down into the sewers to escape and avoid combat Cheesecake. Bad Points Its on consoles. (this is a major major bad point, and all the good points ive listed are demolished by this one bad point) A grey city, no smexy looking jungles and ice covered hills. Iunno Points You can always tell what mode your suits in because of the sounds and how it acts (i thought it was already obvious in crysis 1 with suit colour changes or invisibility). This could be a good or bad thing. The infiltration, armor and power modes all sound like they could potentially be the "default" suit mode (on crysis 1 this was armor mode, when you ran out of suit power, or were in a tight spot that no special power could get you out of, this was the mode you went for). New HUD? To me at the moment it sounds like it can go either way, to be a great game or a horrible game, but it won't have the impact of the original crysis had on, PC gaming at the very least, if not all gaming. Still hoping for a good game though.
from what ive heard they are experimenting with the hud changes depending what suit mode your in, which imo is stupid because I ninja through modes depending on what the situation calls for. I dont want a seazure in the middle of combat :/ you're not alone on this. a lot of people are concerned however i can see the appeal to to throw it at the gullable masses, hell if they paid 60 (LOL) quid for MW2 then they should make a fair bit of return. personally I'd just make a few minor modifications to it and throw it at the failbox, bout time they learnt how to play a game properly instead of tip-toe'ing through levels to arrive safely at the ending.
The way i see it is, they've made a completely new engine because there old engine was too pc focussed (i.e. too powerful for consoles), so they've gone forward 3 years from crysis 1, to today, and the graphics at best are the same as crysis 1 (and this is optimistic), and with all probability, is worse than crysis 1. I know crysis 1 visually was light years ahead of every other game available at the time, and is still probably the most visually amazing game you can buy, but its like graphics in games have stagnated for the past few years. This wouldn't have necsisarly been a bad thing if the game play and quality of games had improved, but from a personal standpoint id say they haven't, just more and more direct console ports. I can see this slowing down advancement in graphics cards and technology because it was always games that drove forward the development and new better graphics technology. Meh, maybe im just been pessimistic, if the game plays good who cares right? Maybe modern warfare 2 is as good as everyone seems to think it is too ._.
What, like this? Yeah, I remember those - they were the only time I could say the graphics of Crysis were disappointing.
I still havent played the first one yet, i keep meaning to grab a copy but never seem to get around to it. Id like to see a company appear that solely exists for Devs to hand the console game to so it can be ported across properly, Im yet to play a console port thats worked correctly with the PC.
neg, the whole point of the cry engine 3 is that you build on the pc and it automatically outputs it to the failbox and ps3 simultaniously, thus we have the "oither" problem, content.
I don't know, the top two (here and here) look like they could be. The others, yeah, definitely not in-game
I can't imagine the power that will be required for the next game to run properly ! It's good for the market however
I loved Crysis + Warhead (wasn'tthat keen on the anti-gravity bit in the first one tho). I just hope its not aimed at console first then pc, if it is then i would maybe think twice about getting it, depends if it plays ok. I think the reason it worked first time round was because it was pc only
Even if it is 'aimed' at console players, this is Crytek we're talking about; I'm sure that even if there are gameplay concessions designed for players with controllers rather than mice, the graphics will stick break your system into tears. No fear guys
im not interested in the graphical differences, i just dont want the existing gameplay beaten with the nerf bat. I like having to pick up weapons to strip them of ammo I like having to think of bullet trajectories and leading my shots I like having to manage my suit powers for optimum killing efficiency I like having to bi-noc targets, plan my routes and instagate the perfect art of stealth should I so wish. Just because little Timmy McShithead and his pal Devvo the chav ****'s idea of a great game is call of duty modern bollocks is no excuse to insult my intellegence with auto ammo pickup, hit boxes the size of cars and 3 second health regen!
Either of the Crysis games is still a world away of what Call of Duty has become. I really enjoyed one level of the COD:MW (the Chernobyl one), the rest was just repetitive tosh with re-spawning enemies. Here's hoping that Crysis 2 isn't dumbed down.
no, warhead pace was different but the option to take your time plotting your murderous intent meticulously was there, the auto ammo pickup thing was annoying but its not on Delta difficulty thank god. tbh you shouldnt be playing Crysis on anything LESS then Delta
This is Crytek, remember FarCry on the Xbox? Both parties got what they wanted, but the PC version was still superior..
