I know PCs will always have the edge, but MY GOD, the difference between PC and console is astronomical.

Quite a difference but I can't really see the differences between the PC shots.

lol the detail difference between PC Extreme and the Xbox version is like the difference between my eyesight with and without my glasses I've just got! I had no idea how bad my eye sight had got until I tried on my new glasses.

This is why i game on a PC, the difference is huge. I have even started to game on my 360 on a smaller tv so it doesnt look as bad but its still painfull when im used to being spoilt with such things as AA and full 1080p resolution.

I am guessing there is little chance of a 64 bit executable then either.

Looks like they have put a blur effect on the 360, maybe to try and disguise the jaggies.

+1. This is why gaming on PC's is superior. And mouse and keyboard owns a controller when you play FPS's. And they say that PC gaming is dying...

Nah, all console games look really blurry I think it's the solution to hide really bad jaggies on them :hehe: microsoft & sony really need to release a much better piece of hardware for the masses or just keep on making things blurry to hide the poor visuals from the lack of raw power :hehe:, heck it would be good if they made an xbox 360 v2 & a ps3 v2 that could simply handle games in full 1080p with 4 or 8x anti aliasing, would make them much more appealing or to go a bit better add more memory so it could also handle better textures :thumb: but no they will keep things as they are sadly :(, it is quite irritating also as these consoles were promoting high def tv's so to not even be up to the challenge of running at that res is a joke.

    I thought the same.

Something I've also noticed with a lot of 360 games is the absolutely horrible motion-blur they love to add, even to stuff that's not moving fast enough to be blurred. This is incredibly noticeable in the 2nd set of screenshots.

"It is strange that Crytek has named the three graphics options in this (Extreme, V.High and High) way, rather than the usual High, Medium and Low"

No it isn't ...it's a marketing decision. It means those who can only play at High don't feel inferior ie Low.

While the shadows are are slightly darker/sharper between Extreme and High but with no discernible less detail ...the difference between PCHigh and Xbox is just night and day!!!

M$ need to retire that aging boX-o-bits like yesterday!

Crysis 2 doesn't even use proper AA it instead uses a method called deferred rendering which means it blurs the edges to make them look smoother

I'm still shocked that there's no DX10 or 11 support in this game (yet) !
It makes me really wonder what the hell Crytek have been doing ever since they delayed the release and why their so-called super CryEngine isn't doing what it's supposed to do, i.e. render graphics in DX9, 10 and 11?

This is such a mess.......... even if the game is great they're currently only hurting their name.
