Windows Crysis Demo - Your Thoughts?

I'm slightly torn over the demo. On the one hand, the gameplay is fantastic and involving. On the other hand, it kills my Athlon 64 3700+/7900GT combo unless everything's on 'low' at 1280x1024. Oh, and people just refuse to die unless you score a lucky headshot.

edit: ARSE, now keys keep sticking so I end up strafing left neatly behind cover, then letting go of the key and carrying on straight out the other side. Not good.

 

Do a strength punch to the gonads. That seems to drop them pretty quickly

 

Well, I've been playing the demo a fair bit over the last few days. It's definitely too easy. I just made it through on normal difficulty without killing a single enemy (and without a weapon I might add, beyond the odd grenade I picked up but didn't use). It was childsplay to avoid them using cloak and rocks as cover to regenerate behind. I even went out of my way to add some spice (collected grenades, danced on rooftops, etc.).

On Delta it's not so bad playing normally, the enemy do feel like trained soldiers then at least and MG's hurt like they should. But I imagine I could do the stealth shindig on Delta fairly easily.
In farcry to be steathly you had to use cover very well, scout out positions, choose a best route, and hope you were fast with the SD5 if you got caught with your undies down. And brute forcing it in that wasn't much good either, with no health regen you had to be very careful at times not to even be seen, when you had no armour and very low health.

Basicly, this seems like it could be more fun, more chaotic, and everyone loves being a superman. But it's too easy, and that's a shame because a great part of farcry for me was getting through it and feeling a supurb satisfaction at the fact that I'd just eluded 20 enemies, nicked some info from a computer, and escaped. Or that I'd managed to destroy them all with only 30% of my health left.

Here's hoping it gets harder.

Edit: By the way, if you're after skipping all the unskippable logo crap at the start of the demo during startup (adverts, in a demo? **** off!) then simply go to X:\<The Directory Crysis Is In>\Crysis demo\Game\Localized\Video - and append some letters to the end of every video except for the bg.sfd and crytek.sfg ones. Et voilá, no more intro videos.

Plus how do you launch the editor to play with the other weapons ?

 

I played through last night and killed everyone only throwing the turtle from the start of the level at them. Played it on easy obviously But it's funny watching people go down after taking a turtle to the face.

LOL at the turtle, i got the full game last night an trust me it gets a lot lot harder then the demo. Amazing game tho, its a must buy

 

I played the demo today and hell cant wait to get the whole game....

 

i wasent impressed with the demo,and what was that thing @ the end some alien that,dident crytec sopost to have a surprise in the demo cos i dunno what it was !
the game should make up for the lame demo tho,(hopefully).
