EA, nooooo...

I finally finished Far Cry two days ago, and even two years after it was released, the graphics is pretty amazing, the new game would probably be even more amazing, especially with dx10 and the new shader model.

Tbh, Far Cry was good, and looking forwards to the next, whether it's a seqal or not.

I spose at least Ubi games are on time. You expect splinter cell to arrive in April, and what happens? It arrives in April. Not that that's great if it doesnt work properly but ive yet to have a Ubi game NOT work properly.

Still, the game looks incredible. I suppose as it's being worked on in any minor part with EA, though, it'll be aquired in a torrent rather than on a DVD. *whistles innocently* "Vote with your wallet."

 

why are EA so bad? have i missed something :S

They were behind Battlefield 2 and i hear thats good

 

EA killed looking glass the *******s and they removed all the humor from theif and they refused to support Zero hour even though it needed patches for balancing and is still one of the most played RTS. With BF2 they try and sell minor updates which valve have been providing free (new models and maps) for twice the price in the uk compared to the us.

Farcry was cool though, the start was so open and rearly good fun for messing with the AI's head. But they shoulden't have done the indoor sections as they showed all the bad parts of the game.

 

Maybe EA will do themselves proud with this. They really need to, given far crys fanbase.

 

EA or not, this next generation of games is going to cause another mass upgrade frenzy. Expect your current 7800 beasts which you regard so highly to suddenly drop to midrange, as it'll be struggling to perform semi-max specs at 1024x768.

But it's really exciting. That a 'probably pre-rendered' tech demo will finally make it into an actual, playable game. Let's just hope Microsoft doesn't delay DX10 and Vista much further.

 

EA are a bunch of suits with a very aggressive business strategy, which often involves buying out development teams, whipping them till they get there current title out the door on very strict (short) deadlines, then as often as not firing them and hanging onto the teams intelectual property.

They rush games and often provide very minimal or no support after the launch.
They also have a tendency to be the worst offender for producing generic games/sequels to try to cash in on something they think will make them cash.

If I remember right they had one team start battlefield 2, then hired on the team that made Desert Combat - the biggest, most successfull mod for battlefield 1942 .. had them finish Battlefield 2, then sacked them again before it was even out the door.
No guarantee i'm remembering it quite straight though.

Edit : DC was a mod for BF1942 .. not BF2, obviously

 

I refuse to give EA money out of principal. Therefore as nice as it is I won't buy it.

(Nor will "obtain" it).

Really EA don't contribute to actually making the game, they buy the people who come up with the idea, supply them with money and short amount of time, sack the people and take customers money.

Most of the games they make are crap though, sports and others for lower end. They have that horrible overly large logo on the front cover of all these games.

It's all about money really.

I think I'll buy it just to play it but I have a strong feeling that EA will make it crap. I hate EA seriously they always ruin good games...
