If this game has got an optimised version of CryEngine 2... I will probably get it.. But I'm not paying for it if It's not going to run very well..

I'm only getting Crysis because my mate has a copy to give away, and I need something to stress my new PC with.

I would really define it as more of a stand alone expansion pack. Game companies often try to get around certain labels like that, but that's really what it comes down to. Expansion packs are pretty much always more of the same anyway.

Of course they didn't get many sales, nobody could play the game! Why should people buy something that they wont be able to play for 5 more years when it is in the bargin bin.

PC gaming sucks. PirACY, cHEATERS, aBUSIVE laNguage from players, Absent Admins, Continuous hacking of the game for every anti cheat update.
I "hate" PC gamers. Destroying game industry. Consoles rule

I have mixed feelings about this really.

To me they should have worked out the multiplayer. That'll keep the game going forever. Like when I was in the beta, people where giving a resounding plea to work out the multiplayer to be better...

    *sigh*

    I wont hold my breath....

We've had 64 bit processors for how many years exactly ? And this is what, the second major game engine to actually take advantage of the extra performance available ? (The other I can think of being valve's source engine if I remember right) Good for them :).

On the side, did anyone else look at that last screenshot and wonder if the troops on the right are all clones ? (and sort of looked female, with a lock of hair down the side of the face, which I know realize isn't, but rather a reflection(?) or something.

    Joe,

How are the segments split? How many fun levels killing the NVA in the jungle, and how many tiresome alien levels?

I'll reserve judgement until the game comes out, but I'm a stealth/sniper-type so I might resent being forced to do the Rambo bit.

I did upgrade for Crysis, but ended up running the game on XP (DX9) and forcing the Very High settings on my 8800 GTS. I don't really know if is DX10 or the way the game is poorly coded... either way I wasn't able to finish the game due to the Airplane Carrier glitch, which was a major blow for the whole game experience.

I'm planning to finish it before Warhead comes out

PS. if you want a real story, with three-dimensional characters.... play BIOSHOCK

And while you're installing it, check the option to install the Time of Day mod. It's awesome.
