OK, so now that I've got a computer which is able to run CS:S to an alright degree, I decided to start playing it some. Anyway, I'm getting rather strange errors whenever I respawn. Basically, my gun will start blinking (literally disappearing then reappearing in a blinking style), and after a certain point in time, the game will freeze for a half second, and I'll drop down and basically be walking so that I can see through the floor (see the video below).

This is very annoying as I am unable to use my gun or do anything when I'm stuck in the ground like this, and whenever I hit duck the spectator controls come up.

Anybody seen anything like this before?

Oh, and video: Click here and such (if you want, that is)

Bash a product and refer him to a flamefest? Hmm... Well, Valve support may know something, but my times in the steam forums have always been unpleasant, anyways.

    I'd suggest doing a file validation: http://support.steampowered.com/cgi...y5zZWFyY2hfbmwmcF9wYWdlPTE*&p_li=&p_topview=1
    or just steam://validate/240
If that fails, delete your settings config file and revalidate, then restart the game (it'll create a new config automatically, but of course you'd lose any custom binds). If THAT fails, http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-bin/steampowered.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php. If you can't find what you need there, reinstall the game (delete the counter-stirke-source.gcf file or whatever it's called and the CSS directory and redownload it).

Of course, check for hardware problems too. Use ATITool to check for video card artifacting (even if you have a nvidia card you can check, just not auto-overclock), use CPUburn or something to check the CPU and memtest86+ for RAM. However it sounds like more of a software issue than anything.

On the offchance you're X2'ing, imagecfg the steam.exe to only use one core, just for good measure.

OT - what song is that in the vid?
Actually, just on that rare chance, kill the media player too. I seriously doubt it'll matter, but if nothing else you can actually pay attention to gunfire location.

Cool, thanks, I'll try that :thumb:

Don't remember what the first one was, but the second one was Last Day on Earth by Marilyn Manson. And it is in winamp, but closing it doesn't do anything (same issues).
