anyone know if CS works with Linux? im board of windows and thinking of going linux
youll need to setup WineX.
I''m not sure how well it works though as I have never tried it and I dont have linux on any of of my systems rght now. It was on my laptop till it caught fire might be a sign from Billy Bob Gates not to dual boot his OS with another.
Ahhhh , any patches out there 2 fix it?
to tell ya the truth your pretty screwed for linux use of any HL game. they are taking down the WON server VERY shortly, so steam is mandatory. I don't even run my HL game servers in linux anymore as the linux version of the steam and HLDS suck compared to the Windows one.
Oooooh , looks like im stuck with windows then.
what OS are you running then?
meh, jsut dual boot a smaller copy of windows. like perhaps a stripped down windows 98 or 2000. should hog much space on your hard drive and will let ya get the best of both worlds
lol, y didnt i think of that!!? yeah good idea
thanks alot man
I know when I installed redhat 9 it even installs a boot loader program-thinger that lets you choose between multiple OSes. Might be usefull If you partition off a section of the HDD for each OS to keep them seperate. Mka e sure to make the windows partition FAT32 if you want the linux partition to be able to read it. I think the boot loader program might auto detect the windows install if its alreay setup before the linux install, that would make it easier to set it all up. I wouldnt know though, I installed redhat on my laptop and did have a windows install to dual boot with at the time.
i got 2 hard drives, 1SATA for windows and one IDE for linux ( 50%50). wll the IDE b ok 2 use?
